Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 25, 2026

Please read before booking

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings and use of Grantown Dog Park. By making a booking, entering the park, or allowing any person or dog in your party to use the park, you agree to follow these Terms & Conditions.

Grantown Dog Park is designed to provide a safe, private and enjoyable space for dogs and their owners. To keep the park safe for everyone, all users must use the facility responsibly and leave it as they found it.

1. Booking the Park

Grantown Dog Park is available by advance booking only. You must not enter the park unless you have a valid booking for that date and time.

Bookings are made online through our website. Payment must be completed at the time of booking. Once payment has been confirmed, you will receive confirmation of your booking and, where applicable, your temporary access instructions.

Your booking is only valid for the date, time and duration selected at checkout. You must not enter the park before your booked start time and must leave promptly by the end of your booked session.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or amend any booking where necessary, including where there has been misuse of the park, breach of these Terms & Conditions, technical issues, safety concerns, or circumstances outside our control.

2. Access Codes and Gate Security

Access to the park may be provided by a temporary gate or lock code. This code is for your booking only and must not be shared with anyone outside your booking party.

You are responsible for keeping the access code secure. If you believe your access code has been shared or misused, please contact us as soon as possible.

You must ensure that all gates are closed and secured behind you when entering and leaving the park. The park must be left secure at the end of your booking.

Failure to secure the gate or misuse of the access system may result in future bookings being refused.

3. Arrival and Departure

Please arrive on time for your booking. Do not enter the park before your booked start time, as another customer may still be using the facility.

If another customer is still in the park or car park when you arrive, please remain in your vehicle and wait until they have fully left before entering. Some dogs using the park may be nervous, reactive or require private space.

You must leave the park and car park promptly at the end of your booking to allow the next customer to enter safely.

All dogs must remain on a lead until they are safely inside the secure park area. Dogs should be placed back on a lead before leaving the secure area.

4. Use of the Park

You use Grantown Dog Park at your own risk. The park is an outdoor rural facility and may include uneven ground, wet or muddy areas, natural hazards, wildlife, holes, fallen branches, slippery surfaces and changing weather conditions.

Before letting your dog off lead, you should check that the park is suitable for your dog and inspect the area for any hazards. If you notice damage, broken fencing, unsafe equipment or anything that may affect safety, please report it to us immediately.

You must supervise your dog at all times. Dogs must not be left unattended in the park.

You must not allow your dog to behave in a way that may cause injury, distress or damage to people, dogs, wildlife, livestock, neighbouring property, fencing, gates or equipment.

5. Dog Health and Behaviour

All dogs using the park must be healthy, fit to exercise, and up to date with appropriate vaccinations, flea, tick and worm treatment.

Do not bring your dog to the park if they are showing signs of illness, including sickness, diarrhoea, coughing, contagious disease, parasites or any condition that may pose a risk to other dogs.

You are responsible for deciding whether the park is suitable for your dog. This includes considering your dog’s temperament, recall, fitness, behaviour around people, behaviour around other dogs, and ability to use any equipment safely.

If your dog is reactive, nervous or likely to behave unpredictably, you must take extra care when entering, leaving and using the park.

6. Number of Dogs and Guests

Only the number of dogs included in your booking may use the park.

You are responsible for all dogs, adults and children in your party. Anyone attending with you must be made aware of these Terms & Conditions before entering the park.

Children are welcome but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Children must not climb on fencing, gates or dog equipment.

We recommend a suitable adult-to-dog ratio at all times. As a guide, we suggest at least one responsible adult for every four dogs. If you are bringing multiple dogs, you must be confident that they can be safely managed.

Professional dog walkers, trainers, behaviourists, group sessions, classes or commercial use must be agreed with us in advance.

7. Exempt, Restricted or Controlled Dogs

You are responsible for ensuring that your dog complies with all applicable laws and requirements.

Any dog subject to legal restrictions, exemption requirements, control orders or special handling conditions must only use the park where this is lawful and safe.

Where a dog is required by law to be registered, insured, neutered, microchipped, muzzled, kept on a lead in public, or handled in a specific way, the owner or handler is fully responsible for complying with those requirements.

For XL Bully dogs in Scotland, official guidance states that it is a criminal offence to keep an XL Bully without a valid Certificate of Exemption, and that restrictions apply, including lead and muzzle requirements in public.

We may refuse or cancel bookings where we reasonably believe a dog or handler presents a safety risk or where legal requirements are not being followed.

8. Cleanliness, Dog Waste and Litter

You must pick up all dog waste immediately and dispose of it responsibly in the bins provided or take it away with you.

Please check the park before you leave to ensure no dog waste has been missed.

All litter, food packaging, toys, broken toys and personal belongings must be taken away or placed in the correct bins.

Please do not leave food, treats or chews behind. Some dogs may have allergies or sensitive dietary requirements.

9. Equipment

Any equipment provided in the park is for dogs only.

You are responsible for deciding whether equipment is suitable for your dog. Do not force, lift, push or place your dog onto equipment if they are unsure, physically unsuitable, nervous, injured or not ready to use it.

Equipment may become slippery in wet, icy or cold conditions. Please use caution and report any damaged or unsafe equipment immediately.

Children and adults must not climb, sit or stand on dog equipment.

10. Prohibited Activities

The following are not permitted at Grantown Dog Park:

  • Entering without a valid booking.
  • Arriving early or overstaying your booking.
  • Sharing your access code with unauthorised users.
  • Smoking or vaping.
  • Fires, BBQs, camping stoves or any heat source.
  • Alcohol or illegal substances.
  • Leaving dogs unattended.
  • Allowing dogs to dig excessively or damage the ground.
  • Climbing fences or gates.
  • Interfering with locks, cameras, fencing, signage or equipment.
  • Using the park for commercial purposes without prior agreement.
  • Leaving litter, dog waste, toys or food behind.
  • Bringing a dog that is unwell or contagious.
  • Any behaviour that causes nuisance, danger, damage or distress.

11. Cancellations, Amendments and Refunds

All bookings are made for a specific date and time. Once a booking has been made and payment has been completed, bookings are non-refundable unless we need to cancel your booking or close the park.

If you can no longer attend your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. We may, at our discretion, offer to move your booking to another available date or time, subject to availability. However, we are not required to rearrange bookings and cannot guarantee that an alternative slot will be available.

Refunds will not be provided for late arrivals, no-shows, customer error, unsuitable weather, or where you choose not to use the park during your booked time.

If you arrive late, your booking will still end at the original booked end time.

As Grantown Dog Park is an outdoor facility, bookings will usually go ahead in normal weather conditions, including rain, wind, cold weather or muddy ground. You are responsible for deciding whether the conditions are suitable for you and your dog.

If we need to cancel your booking because the park is unsafe, unavailable, damaged, closed for maintenance, affected by extreme weather, or unavailable for reasons outside our control, we will offer either a rearranged booking or a refund.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

12. Weather and Park Closures

Grantown Dog Park is an outdoor facility and will usually remain open during normal weather conditions.

We may close the park if we consider it unsafe, including due to extreme weather, flooding, ice, storm damage, fencing damage, maintenance, access issues or any other safety concern.

If we need to cancel your booking due to park closure, we will try to offer an alternative booking time or refund where appropriate.

You are responsible for dressing appropriately and wearing suitable footwear for outdoor, uneven and potentially muddy ground.

13. Damage

You are responsible for any damage caused by you, your dog, your vehicle, or anyone attending as part of your booking.

This includes damage to fencing, gates, locks, equipment, signs, bins, ground, planting, neighbouring property or any other part of the facility.

We reserve the right to recover reasonable costs for repair, replacement or additional cleaning where damage or misuse has occurred.

14. Vehicles and Parking

Vehicles are parked at your own risk. We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to vehicles or property left in vehicles, except where caused by our negligence.

Please drive slowly and carefully when entering and leaving the site.

Do not block access points, gates, neighbouring land, tracks or roads.

15. Responsibility and Liability

You are responsible for yourself, your dog, your guests and any children in your party while using Grantown Dog Park.

You accept that using an outdoor dog park involves inherent risks, including injury to people or dogs, dog fights, slips, trips, falls, escape, interaction with wildlife, uneven ground, weather conditions and damage to property.

You are responsible for ensuring that your dog is under control at all times and that your dog does not cause injury, loss or damage.

We do not accept responsibility for injury, illness, death, loss, escape or damage arising from your use of the park, except where this is caused by our negligence or where we cannot legally exclude liability.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

We strongly recommend that all dogs are covered by suitable third-party liability insurance.

16. Breach of Terms

If you breach these Terms & Conditions, we may ask you to leave the park, cancel your booking, refuse future bookings, withhold refunds, recover costs for damage, or take any other reasonable action.

Serious misuse, unsafe behaviour, damage, unauthorised access, abusive behaviour or repeated breaches may result in a permanent booking ban.

17. Privacy and Personal Information

We collect and use personal information to manage bookings, process payments, send booking confirmations, provide access instructions, respond to enquiries, and manage the safe operation of the park.

Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Booking, payment and communication services may involve third-party systems.

We will not sell your personal information.

For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of booking will apply to your booking.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.
